  Protected Landscape Area
  - romantic landscape forming 50km-long natural border of the district with Poland with great amount of original mountain vegetation and natural wonders. The highest mountain is Velká Deštná 1115 m above sea level. The town of Rychnov n.K. is the gateway to the Orlické mountains.
  The Mountains are suitable for summer and winter tourism and cycle tourism. In winter there is an extensive network of groomed ski tracks. The ski centres in Děštné, Říčky, Rokytnice or Čenkovice are perfect for downhill skiing.
  Zemská brána nature reserve is a unique piece of countryside – the most beautiful river valley in the Orlické mountains.
• The Orlice Natural Park - original, well-preserved meandering riverbeds and floodplains of the Orlice, the Divoká Orlice and the Tichá Orlice rivers. The Orlice Natural Park joins the Orlické Mountains Protected Area and stretches 100 km along the rivers to Hradec Králové.
• The nature and landscape of the Rychnov region - are the result of historically secular human activity. Even the semi-natural communities were influenced by human activity during their development. The best preserved areas with occurence of particularly protected species are protected according to Czech National Council Act no. 114/1992 Coll on Protection of Nature and Landscape.
• Military fortification from 1938:
  • Fortress Hanička – artillery fortress north of Rokytnice v O.h., which was rebuilt to fallout shelter in the eighties. It is open to the public.
  • Fortress Bouda – artillery fortress by Jirásek’s path near Suchý vrch open to the public
  • Infantry blockhouse Březinka – independent blockhouse Náchod – Běloves open to the public
  • Fortress Dobrošov - artillery fortress by Jirásek’s path near Náchod open to the public
• Kralicky Sneznik Massive - well known National Nature Reserve with the highest peak Kralický Sněžník
• Vejda´s linden in Pastviny - the mightiest Commemorative Tree in eastern Czechia.
• Kunvald - the cradle of the Union of Bohemian Brethren (Jednota bratrská), the bishop of which was Jan Amos Komenský (1649 - 1670).
• Pastviny - recreational area near the dam reservoir on the Divoká Orlice river , fishing, water sports
