- Based on the independent audit of provided services, the "Association of Entrepreneurs in the Hotel and Travel Industry” awarded the hotel the certificate which gives it the right to use four stars as the hotel classification according to Section 17 of Act No. 456/1991 Coll. (Trade Act)
- In 2001 the hotel Havel placed thirteenth in the “My Hotel” survey and ranked among the first fifty best TOP hotels in the Czech Republic.

History:
The hotel was built in 1860 as the Hotel Procházka. Later it was bought by the city of Rychnov n.Kn. It was named after the first tenant, Karel Havel, or after the Church of St. Havel (St. Gall), which is located in the close proximity of the hotel. Throughout the last century the hotel ranked among the best hotels in the region of the Orlické Mountains. During 1951-90 it was renamed the “Hotel Rudá hvězda”. In 1994-95 it was completely rebuilt according to the current requirements for a modern hotel. Today the hotel building is owned by the city of Rychnov nad Kněžnou and the hotel is operated by the company Hotel Havel s.r.o., managed by Miroslav Špaňhel.
